Eligibility for Transit Visa

Most travelers transiting through Singapore don’t require a transit visa. If you are only passing through Singapore on your way to another destination, you have to qualify for the visa-free transit (VFTF) facility. The VFTF allows you to stay in the country for 96 hours. Citizens of the countries mentioned below are eligible for the VFTF:

●      Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS):

○      Armenia

○      Azerbaijan

○      Belarus

○      Kazakhstan

○      Kyrgyzstan

○      Moldova

○      Russia

○      Tajikistan

○      Uzbekistan

●      Georgia

●      India

●      Turkmenistan

●      Ukraine

●      China

This facility can not be extended under any circumstance and overstaying the permitted limit is an offence. The VFTF can only be used once arriving in Singapore or during departure. To enter Singapore under the VFTF, travelers must meet current immigration entry conditions. Immigration & checkpoints authority checks for eligibility upon arrival.

Visa-Free Transit Facility Requirements

If you are from India or China, you will be eligible for VFTF if you meet the following criteria:

●      Regardless of how you arrived, you must exit Singapore by air or sea within 96 hours. To do this, you should possess a ticket for a flight, ship, or cruise scheduled to depart within that period.

○      Japan

○      Germany

○      United States of America
