Visa

Are you a Pakistan Passport Holder Living in UAE and wishing to travel to Singapore? However, there are always challenges related to visa approval which you have to consider before you start making your travel plans.

What You'll Need?

Applying for a Singapore visa from Dubai may sound like a huge step at first but now you need not to worry any longer. The exact documents may be rather different depending on the type of visa that you want to get, but here follows a generic list of documents which is more or less similar for every type of visa application.

  1. 6 Months Passport Validity: The first and foremost condition is that you need to have a Pakistani passport and this valid passport must have a least six months validity from the period of your planned stay in this country.

  2. Legal Residence Proof in UAE: You will also be requested to produce your legal residency in UAE therefore ensure to have your Emirates ID with you.

  3. Photo: You need 2 photos that are 35mm x 45mm in size. These photos are required to start the visa application process.

  4. Specific Documents: Sometimes, you will be required to upload some particular papers depending on the kind of visa that you want to be issued. It could be anything ranging from an invitation letter to bank statements, letters of employment among other documents. If you are coming as a tourist, then it is recommended that you bring with you your travel itinerary, and photocopies of your flying tickets and accommodation reservation.

 The Application Process

Unlike some countries where one can even apply directly at the embassy, Singapore allows you to apply through a licensed agent.

Once you have obtained all your documents, your agent will help you fill the application form. There are some charges that you will be expected to pay such as the processing charge depending on the type of Visa that you wish to obtain. The next step is the waiting period – as a rule, the result takes 3-5 days but sometimes it is more or less.

In case there is no complication, your agent will call to give you the good news that your visa has been approved.

When in Singapore Do not. . .

Singapore in general is very clean, very orderly, and not least – has very stringent laws. Despite the fact that every visitor is welcome, there are certain regulations which would be better to remember before arriving in this country.

The rules are usually well followed but special attention should be paid to the cleanliness. Littering is strictly prohibited and the offenders should prepare to be penalized heavily. And here's a quirky one: chewing gum is prohibited in most instances but where it is required for medical reasons it is allowed. Smoking is permitted at the premises at specific sections only.

Choosing the Right Visa

  1. Tourism:

Now let us go through the kinds of visas which are available to the applicants: Well if you do not have any intention other than to indulge in the different cuisines in Singapore and to tour then a tourist visa is more befitting on you. This normally allows you to be present for as many as 30 days.

2. Study:

You will need a student visa that will allow you to live in the country all along your course period.

3. Work:

For work purposes, there are two: the Employment Pass for the skilled worker and the S Pass for the semi-skilled workers. We’d like to remind however that the Work Visa Rules in Singapore are rather rigorous.

4. Family visit:

If your intent is to stay longer then you might want to consider obtaining a residence visa as a stay option. If you are thinking about going to visit your other relatives or attend a wedding or similar event, then a family visit visa may be the most suitable for you.

Wrapping Up

It might look like a complicated process when you are applying for a Singapore visa, well, it is not all. It is also good to know that one should apply early enough before whenever one intends to travel and not be afraid to seek advice from the visa agent.

Singapore can be denoted as one of the best places in the world with great architecture; tidy gardens, and diverse people and food. Therefore, whenever your visa gets approved, you are off to the Lion City. Safe travels!
